Tomas Prūsas met up with His Excellency Alar Karis, President of the Republic of Estonia, during a business breakfast in Vilnius. It was an insightful dialogue centered on the future of the Baltic industrial landscape and the growing synergy between the two nations.
The discussion highlighted that our challenges and goals are mirrored across the border:
- Cultivating Talent: We emphasized the critical need to steer more young minds toward engineering education. At Harju Elekter, we believe the future is built by those who understand the “how” behind the technology, and we must inspire the next generation to lead.
- The Talent Pipeline: necessity of streamlined processes was addressed to attract international experts, ensuring our industries aren’t slowed down by local labor shortages.
- Strategic Investment: With Estonia standing as the fourth-largest foreign investor in Lithuania (€4.2 billion), the dialogue focused on how the state can further empower companies that act as economic bridges between the two countries.

We extend a big thank you to Her Excellency Kaili Terras, Ambassador of the Republic of Estonia in Lithuania, whose initiative made today’s high-level exchange possible.
