Challenge

Maintaining Reliable Power Distribution for Continuous Food Production.

Food processing facilities depend on uninterrupted electrical power to operate production equipment, refrigeration systems and automated packaging lines.

Even a localised electrical fault can disrupt production, affect temperature-sensitive materials and create costly interruptions across interconnected processes.

The customer required a reliable low-voltage distribution system capable of supporting multiple critical loads while reducing the operational impact of individual feeder faults and enabling efficient maintenance.

Solution

Four Siemens SIVACON S8 Distribution Boards with Segmented Feeder Architecture.

Harju Elekter developed a coordinated low-voltage power distribution solution using four Siemens SIVACON S8 main distribution boards: two rated at 2000 A and two rated at 1250 A.

Instead of concentrating the electrical loads into a single main distribution board, the configuration distributes power across four separate units, providing greater flexibility in managing critical production systems.

Outgoing fused switches rated from 100 A to 630 A were arranged in separate functional drawers. This segmented architecture supports individual feeder isolation and simplifies maintenance while helping minimise the effect of localised electrical issues on other circuits.

The switchgear was manufactured using Harju Elekter’s in-house production capabilities, including advanced busbar processing and precision sheet metal manufacturing.

Result

Segmented and Maintainable Power Distribution for Critical Production.

The customer received four coordinated Siemens SIVACON S8 distribution boards designed to support reliable electrical supply throughout the food processing facility.

The multi-board configuration and individually separated outgoing feeders improve operational flexibility, supporting maintenance and fault isolation at individual circuits.

By combining proven Siemens switchgear technology with customized engineering and in-house manufacturing, Harju Elekter delivered a scalable power distribution solution suited to the operational demands of continuous food production.
