New Substation Solutions and Models Introduced in 2025
In 2025, the company completed type testing and developed several new substation solutions in response to updated market and regulatory requirements. Development activities focused particularly on the needs of E.ON, Caruna, and Elenia following the ban on SF₆ in medium-voltage equipment. The larger dimensions of SF₆-free alternatives required design modifications to compact secondary substations.
As a result of these developments, the following new models were added to the product portfolio:
HEKA2VM1600-1, HEKA1SB1250-1, HEKA1VM315-8, HEKA1VM315-9, and HEKA2VB1250-1.
In addition, HEKA1SM6300-1 was launched for large-scale solar parks, and HEKA1VM1600-3, mainly used in Sweden as an IBH24 substation for medium-voltage connections of end users.
Below is an overview of the developed models.

HEKA2VM1600-1 – Metal Substation with Two Transformers
Development started in 2024, and final type tests were completed in Q1 2025.
The model is part of the E.ON tender and is also suitable for other markets, including Estonia and Finland.
Configuration:
Two transformers up to 1250 kVA
Medium-voltage RMU up to 5+5 bays
Low-voltage panel up to 2 × 2500 A
Type tests passed:
Internal arc, temperature rise, IP and IK protection, earthing short-circuit.

HEKA1VM315-8 and HEKA1VM315-9 – Metal Substation with One Transformer
These models are based on an existing design from a previous E.ON tender.
They are suitable for the latest E.ON and Caruna tenders.
An additional type test was performed for internal arc classification with a more stringent requirement of 16 kA / 1 s.

HEKA1SB1250-1 – Concrete Substation with One Transformer
The model is based on the 1SB1000-1 design and includes several improvements:
Additional ventilation grille on the wall
Slightly larger enclosure
Thicker concrete base for transportation with the transformer installed
Oil pit integrated into the floor
Configuration:
One transformer up to 1250 kVA
Medium-voltage RMU up to 5 bays
Low-voltage panel up to 2500 A
Type tests passed:
Internal arc, temperature rise, earthing short-circuit.
HEKA2VB1250-1 – Concrete Substation with Two Transformers
This model is part of the E.ON tender and is suitable for other markets, including Estonia and Finland.
Configuration:
Two transformers up to 1250 kVA
Medium-voltage RMU up to 5+3 bays
Low-voltage panel up to 2 × 2500 A
Type testing for this solution is currently in progress.
HEKA1SM6300-1 – Metal Substation with One Transformer
This model is primarily intended for large-scale solar park applications.
Configuration:
One transformer up to 6300 kVA
Medium-voltage RMU-type solution
Low-voltage panel up to 2 × 2500 A
Forced ventilation
HEKA1VM1600-3 – Metal Substation with One Transformer
This model is mainly used in Sweden as an IBH24 substation for medium-voltage connections of end users.
Configuration:
One transformer up to 1600 kVA
Medium-voltage RMU-type solution
Low-voltage panel up to 2500 A
