Arvi Hamburg is a Doctor of Energy and Geotechnology at Tallinn University of Technology and a certified electrical engineer who has worked as a professor and lecturer at various Estonian universities. From 1987 to 1990, he served as Deputy Director General of Eesti Energia, and from 1990 to 1992 as Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Industry and Energy. Between 1992 and 2001, he was Deputy Secretary General and Adviser to the Minister at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
Arvi Hamburg is actively involved in public life, serving as Chair of the Advisory Board of Tallinn University of Applied Sciences, Chair of the Advisory Board of Kehtna Vocational Education Centre, a member of the Professional Council for Engineering, Manufacturing and Processing at the Estonian Qualifications Authority, a member of the Ministry of Education and Research’s Kristjan Jaak Scholarship Council, a board member of the Estonian National Committee of the World Energy Council, a Supervisory Board member of AS Ecomatic, a board member of the Foundation for the Founders of the Estonian Museum of Science and Technology, a board member of the Foundation for the Preservation of TTÜ Traditions, and a board member of both the Estonian National Committee of the World Energy Council and the NGO Eesti Klubi.
