SteelFLEX
In 2024, Harju Elekter engineered, manufactured and delivered a complete mobile earthing reactor station to Ellevio
AB, which supports the utility’s efforts to enhance grid reliability and operational flexibility. Our product was used to
provide a transportable solution for grounding and voltage control during maintenance and network reconfiguration.
The technical solution was developed in collaboration with Ellevio, based on our proven SteelFLEX design — a fully
welded, heavy-duty construction built to withstand rough ambient conditions and frequent relocation. The design ensures
mechanical strength, electrical safety and ease of deployment across different substations.
An internal challenge in this project was to adapt the SteelFLEX concept for a mobile configuration while maintaining
the same structural rigidity and protection level as stationary units. Through close cooperation between our design and
structural engineering teams, we optimised the frame and lifting arrangements to meet both transport and performance
requirements.
