HOW OUR PRODUCT WAS USED
Since 2009, Elenia has built all of its new electricity lines using weatherproof underground cables. Elenia Weatherproof investments are expected to continue until 2036, by which time 90% of the old overhead distribution lines will have been replaced with underground cables using compact secondary substations. A new tender with Harju Elekter was signed in 2025. 1000 kVA substation quantities are 100 PC annually.
TECHNICAL SOLUTION
Harju Elekter fulfilled the need of Elenia by providing HEKA M, which is our compact substation in sheet metal equipped with one transformer up to 1000 kVA, along with SF6-free medium-voltage switchgear on the primary side paired with an integrated low-voltage solution on the secondary side.
SOFT VALUES CREATED FOR THE CUSTOMER
TThe close collaboration within Harju Elekter resulted in a new compact substation design, which was developed in minimum time.
INTERNAL CHALLENGE SOLVED
During the development, Harju Elekter was challenged to create a completely
new design and perform type tests according to IEC 62271-202.
